Yay or Nay? María de las Nieves Fourdinier
Leave it Boswell to finally look decent and still be rejected by our panel. Johnson's companion had a few Yays in there but still achieved an overall Nay. Many people didn't agree with his sloppy buttoning or the odd choice of colors. I'm going to take another chance this week and throw out another person who went with complimentary colors.
Luis Paret y Alcázar paints María de las Nieves Fourdinier in her open gown of burnt red and sage satin. I wonder if she powdered that hair blonde... Yay or Nay?

A big YAY from me.
I especially love the hair piece and the red really is divine. :)
Yay.
A lovely Yah!
a definite YAY
I'm leaning toward the yay because the colors are wonderful however, I have to say, the fur doesn't do it for me. And the bird eying her nest of powdered hair doesn't either.
Going just on the outfit itself, sans hair piece and box w/bird, I'd have to say yay :)
Yay! I'm definitely a fan.
yay!
i think she looks quite magnificent even if the enormous hair is a little intimidating...
like that tiny bird, i'd like a peek inside her magic box!
From the neck down I give it a Yay. Her hair is rather too bright and vast which draws the eyes to it more than the more muted gown. I've always thought her face was unfortunate, but working with what she has she's done a nice job.
Yay
Yay, yay, and yay! That dress has a lovely silhouette. My only slight complaint is the overbearing hair, but even that I'm fine with.
I wasn't sure at first but on second glance it's a 'yay'.
The small details are quite impressive in the foreground, but behind Luis Paret's wife the background has been given less attention than her frivolous attire.
Overall the deep burn red of her gown is beautiful but does not quite complement the blue hues of her undergarments and her headdress.
I do like the painting but am not quite sure so unfortunately a Nay for me.
A resounding Yay! That fiery hair looks stunning with the red of her gown. Brava!
oh...oh Yay...very much yay.
The red dress is looking really good, and her hair is pinned up well. Only the green in the middle is looking a bit sharp.
But, a big Yay!
Yay!
Oh, nay nay nay. It's an overbearing sort of picture and she's a bit tacky.
A fairly tepid yay. Perhaps a 6 out of 10 - just making it into yay territory. Red and green can be trying, but sage and burnt red work well. Her hair is a bit much, but that was the fashion, and she carries it well.
Is that a fur lining? I love the warm colors here. The red goes well with her blonde hair. Now her greenish-white skirt and hat, not so much. But the red gown makes this a yay for me.
As we can judge by the the image, inbreeding causes Down syndrome...
Yay, though the hair may be a tad too festive.
Yay. Beautiful pouf coiffure, and nice colours. The toilette is nice, but sadly the foreground of the painting is a bit too messy.
Yay! Fabulous.
